Big openings at the back of a house need steel. On this build the goalposts and beams were delivered and lifted into place by crane, then propped while the brickwork and padstones went in.
With the shell up, we framed the flat roof, built the upstands for the roof lantern and decked it ready for a warm roof finish.
Inside, the lantern opening was boarded and plastered and the Crittall-style windows fitted, ready for the kitchen.
